It all started in the fall of 2017 on a trip to New Orleans where Greg Powell had his first exposure to glow in the dark bike rides and immediately started dreaming about how night bike tours would be a great way to highlight the beauty of Downtown Shreveport and Bossier City. So, in November 2018, Greg booked his first group bike ride in New Orleans with Get Up and Ride during Xavier University of Louisiana’s Homecoming. He fell in love with the idea and by June of 2019 had purchased used and new beach-style cruiser bicycles, outfitting them with LED lights. July 4th weekend, SB Rides conducted its first group bike tour and since then the business has grown and organized group bike tours with SB Rides are now throughout Louisiana and Texas.

You do not need to be an experienced or hardcore cyclist. Matter of fact, SB Rides is better suited for people who do not own bicycles and are looking to enjoy local, casual cruises around town. Many of the tours are scheduled with stops to local restaurant/bar establishments, through historic districts and beautiful architecture. Cruise through the bike-friendly East Bank District in Bossier City or through the Downtown Shreveport Riverview Park area along the Red. We are not limited to these areas – there is so much to see!
